I never got to see the Broadway production, so I can't speak to it. But I finally listened to the cast album not long ago and generally loved it.
WOTVOANB and Band's Visit are actually the only two Yazbek scores I actually responded to and even love. I won't deny that DRS and TFM are quality, but I just didn't respond to them and they made almost zero impression on me as cast albums (haven't seen any live except Band's Visit... and Tootsie - and the less said about that score the better) |
