| I've been watching a lot of the Met Opera streams and reading about opera voices. I ran across the term "tessitura"...and realized that "Tessie Tura" the stripper must be a play on the term. Clearly I'm the last person to notice this, but it made me wonder if there are hidden puns in other character names. I'm at a loss to figure out what Mazeppa might mean....but I'm certain there are other "punny" characters out there. Thoughts? Ideas? |
