That article isn't as granular as it could be. The Billboard article, which is its source, explains the situation better. Live Nation not only owns Ticketmaster, it also operates venues and is the promoter of a lot of concert tours. The May 1 rule only applies to shows under Live Nation or AEG. For example, the Billboard article makes it clear that the NBA and NHL, which aren't covered by those two entities, are still up in the air.
I don't think any of the Broadway or off-Broadway theaters fall under those two entities, so this doesn't affect those shows (which appear to be refunding anyway, albeit slowly). |
