| Pushed back a whole year with Lin saying they are still recording the score with “a lot to be done” as he told Rosie last month. At the same time I am sure I have seen people online saying that they have seen a sneak preview, if that was true then maybe that was a very rough cut eh. | |

| It's such a disappointment as that trailer looked so damn joyous. But certainly understandable given the ever-changing status of this crisis. Since Broadway isn't hopeful to come back until at least the Fall ( at the earliest, and with restrictions if at all) I imagine it too ambitious to think that movie theaters would be open any earlier. Plus, with this new premiere date, "In The Heights" won't have the "awards" competition of "West Side Story" - slated to open on December 18th ( if that even happens). Maybe kismet to avoid that perfect storm. | |

| I think it will be a lot easier to open movie theaters than it will be to open stage theaters like Broadway, although perhaps not movie theaters in big cities like New York or Chicago. I live in the village of Morton Grove, Illinois (suburb of Chicago) and have seen dozens of movies in local cinemas over the last 12 months. With the exception of The Irishman and Marriage Story, I could have easily observed social distancing when seeing all the other films because none of the theaters I attended were ever that full, especially during afternoon hours. | |

| Agreed. I wish I could watch this film now, even if it was on my TV. I have such good memories of this show, including it being my niece's second broadway show (at not even 5 years old - we'd already seen Hairspray and she loved them both). I could use something joyful like this time right now. I only hope there are movie theaters that EXIST when it's time to have a theatrical release for this. mdc |
