Not sure how far you got. But Ellen tells Alex shes pregnant with his child. Alex asks Mitchell for $1500 for an abortion and Mitchell blames Alex for his career problems. Diane gets them all in a room and offers $10k (blank “to”) to Ellen to get the abortion and have money left over but before she hands over she asks them what they really want and proposes that Mitchell and Ellen get married and have the baby and Alex will be a personal assistant to Mitchell. She leaves the check on table and leaves the room. Each have private fourth wall moment. Alex emerges from room to start a new chapter. Diane has him open the envelope and it is already made out to Alex. Ellen and Mitchell do get married.

After the play, there was a brief chat with the cast, and Julie White became very emotional about remembering the show and started getting teary. It was very touching. She focused on how much she enjoyed being with that particular cast, but I imagine she was also thinking about her life before and after. Although a Tony doesn't mean much in Hollywood, it means something in the New York theater world, and winning that Tony probably opened professional opportunities for her. It's probably not an exaggeration to say that show changed her life.

I once saw the cast in a booth at the WestWay Diner on a matinee day and they seemed to be having a great time together.

It's always nice to hear that a cast genuinely likes each other. I think I mentioned that the Spring Awakening cast reunion on Stars in the House also seemed to be a cast that really likes each other.

About the time of Little Dog Laughed, there was an interview where Julie White was asked what the best advice she was ever given was. She shared that her manager who helped her book the sitcom "Grace Under Fire" sat her down and told her that she had gotten lucky with this job (and its pay) but that fundamentally, she was a theater person and would always want to be one. So, he told her, don't get a more expensive apartment, don't get a new car, don't buy expensive clothes, but bank every penny from that show and get to a place where you don't need to take a job for money every again. And so she did, which let her take jobs in New York in small theaters, doing work she wanted to do rather than "had" to do. And she ends up with a Tony.

It has added an extra layer following her career knowing this bit of background. Smart agent. Smart lady. Terrific actor.

Sometimes the brass ring is only grabbed once on carousel.

Hopefully she banked every penny from her Transformers movies too, following Little Dog Laughed. She can buy even nicer clothes & nicer apartments now! I'm sure her manager appreciated those gigs!
