About the time of Little Dog Laughed, there was an interview where Julie White was asked what the best advice she was ever given was. She shared that her manager who helped her book the sitcom "Grace Under Fire" sat her down and told her that she had gotten lucky with this job (and its pay) but that fundamentally, she was a theater person and would always want to be one. So, he told her, don't get a more expensive apartment, don't get a new car, don't buy expensive clothes, but bank every penny from that show and get to a place where you don't need to take a job for money every again. And so she did, which let her take jobs in New York in small theaters, doing work she wanted to do rather than "had" to do. And she ends up with a Tony.

It has added an extra layer following her career knowing this bit of background. Smart agent. Smart lady. Terrific actor.
