"I'll Be Here"

Haven't thought about this song in quite some time but it came up as I was listening to my shuffled music library today. I love the song, and I remember the first time hearing it I was driving and as I realized what was unfolding, I had to pull of the road to compose myself. It's a great marriage of music and lyric I think.

However...on subsequent listens I always get pulled out of the song by the idea that September 11, 2001 being their first wedding anniversary means they were married on a Monday. I know that's a dumb thing to focus in on but ultimately I always find myself thinking of that. Is there anything in the show that addresses that?

It's funny the things we associate with certain dates. I always remember that Sept. 11, 2001 fell on a Tuesday because I had made plans to go to Tower Records after work that day to get the CD of Tick! Tick! Boom!. My company shut down at noon that day and despite what had occurred earlier, I hightailed it into Chicago and picked up a copy just minutes before they decided to close the store early.

A major national event but need to get that musical cd. I can’t say i haven’t done similar things over the years. The first tower had already collapsed by the time I got up took a shower and turned on tv to make breakfast in San Fran.

I don't think its addressed, but I've only seen the show once and that was several years ago. Fine score and I agree that "I'll Be Here" is a memorable song. Anyone else see this show? Thoughts?

I was looking forward to it, and listen to it when i knew i was seeing Scotland PA... but it was so boring and musically uninteresting that I stopped half way in for lack of interest.

As I said in another post the other day, I was equally enamored of Scotland PA :(

If the OP is too lazy to state the musical I’ve become to lazy to care and try to figure it out.

Thanks for being the mediator.

Unnecessary.

Reads more like the poster was so involved in what they were thinking/saying, they didn't realize the subject title wasn't apparent.

It took one Google search - if you can't do that ...

The OP was asking about the show without naming it

That’s just being smug insider attitude that doesn’t warrant a search. If the poster wanted a legitimate discussion he would name the song AND the show especially an obscure flop.

My apologies for not quite knowing the etiquette and upsetting folks. Not my intention to be smug or lazy. Thanks for the responses all.

I was in a generous mood this morning, and I was genuinely curious about the song because I wasn't able to place it at first glance. I was surprised that it was actually from a show I had seen in Chicago 5 years ago. I even bought the OOBC CD and listen to it occasionally.

At least the OP didn't use an acronym.
