| Most likely, Broadway will not bounce back. It might slowly crawl its way to something, but what that might be is anybody's guess and a long way off. |

| Yes, I’m aware. Can we at least entertain my question for the time being? Shall I change my question so everyone who has been quarantined for the past month doesn’t forget that when we are out of this we will not be returning to the normal we were once used to? | |

| O.K. I don't want to see Hairspray and I don't want to see any more Disney and I don't want to see any more mediocre movie adaptations. I hope this answers your question. I want to see intelligent THEATRE. | |

| Yes, I enjoy intelligent theatre as well. I also just enjoy going to the theatre and having fun. Sometimes I just want to feel good. And I think after spending months quarantined, I will want to have fun and feel good. Obviously I’ll be happy to seeing intelligent things, but why can’t some fluff be thrown in there for fun? Screw it. Give me a Mama Mia revival. | |

| Why can't theater be intelligent and thus, fun? Does theater need to be stupid to be fun? And hard pass for Mamma Mia. | |

| I would definitely love to see what Lynn Nottage will write about this though I guess that will take some time after theater is reopened again. I would like to see Lincoln Center return to trying to start a rep company again as it did in its beginning days with a combination of New,older and classic plays. I still want to see the revival of "Take Me Out" because I want to see Jesse Tyler Ferguson take on the role of Mason with that wonderful baseball speech. I want to see "Beetlejuice" come back and I would like to see a revival of "Camelot" | |

| Therein lies the rub. Fluff doesn't make me feel good. | |

| Perhaps you could ask... When Broadway, or any theatre for that matter, does return, what show would you most long to see mounted? That might prove more hopeful and playful. But for those of us who live and work in NYC, a bounce back seems most unlikely, For a very long time. I will go first. INTO THE WOODS. Once upon a time... |

| Yes. INTO THE WOODS is exactly what I’d like to see when we can finally go to the theatre again. I’d like to see WIT again, too. And whatever Lynn Nottage writes next. And The Minutes, which I had a ticket to see before everything shut down. |

| That is why I specified whatever Ms cottage writes about this. I imagine the other poster who mentioned her feels somewhat the same. | |

| In a survey in Washington, DC (admittedly targeted at regional theater and not Broadway), having more shows that were light and fun was NOT a criterion for returning to the theater. | |
