A Sondheim tribute for our time.

The songs, the artists, the settings in their homes. Put together with love and care and by tremendous talent. And with Bernadette to take us out. A tribute for the ages.

Thank you

Stephen Schwartz's gorgeous "Prologue" from Follies.
Chip Zien's moving "No More" from Into the Woods.
Donna Murphy's exquisite "Send in the Clowns" from A Little Night Music. The highlight of all highlights.
All of the beautiful illustrations by Tug Rice.

Take care,
Jason

I was surprised by how many memorable moments there were throughout the show. Loved Zien and Murphy, Errico, those lunching LADIES, Gyllenhaal and Ashford, Patinkin, Bernadette, young Iain Armitage as a toddler doing FINISHING THE HAT, etc etc. If you are mourning the loss of live theatre right now (I suspect that includes most people on this board), this night was thrilling. Watch it. And for those of you who don't really "get" the power and wit and wonder of SOMEONE IN A TREE: check out the one delivered tonight.

Melissa Errico's "Children and Art" was beautiful and heartfelt
Alexander Gemignani's "Buddy's Blues" was hilarious, and he made all the quick lyrics crystal clear

I thought the end sequence of Someone in a Tree - Send in the Clowns - Ladies Who Lunch - Move On - Anyone Can Whistle - No One is Alone was extremely strong, one right after the other. And I'm Still Here was a great capper to the evening.
