And for years I thought "Make Someone Happy" was a Charles Strouse song.

I know, terrible confession at this board. Maybe because of "Put on a Happy Face," same vintage generally speaking -- that pop cover polish so often applied to both* -- I just "heard" the Strouse rather than Styne signatures. But that was a golden era in so many ways as a poster above notes, and Styne and Strouse were master practitioners of the great musical comedy song.

*As a kid (I was 8 in 1960), I was lucky to hear so many on variety shows. Nothing is quite comparable today, the role of pop covers (remember Bobby Darin singing "Mame"? In the top 40? Marilyn Maye's "Cabaret"?)
