Just for fun, I'll throw one out. This won't be it and I don't want it to be, but so there's SOME answer..

Let's say the term is... "bunt"... it wasn't a strike out, it wasn't a home run, but the show got to at least a base and it counts as not a failure. I don't want to use sports terms for theater but I'll start there.

(And unless people want to comment with other *fun* pitches, let's not have a thread about how bad and insane "bunt" is and how a show is either a flop or a hit. I have made it very clear several times in this thread that the premise of this is about in a world of cultural commentary that isn't only ruled by financial hard lines there is a difference between a show that is a flop or failure and a show that is a hit, and a show that is not a flop but is also not a hit. No need to revisit this. If anyone wants to extend this, it should please only be for fun (i'm including myself in that))
