If I recall, that Annie Get Your Gun is literally musically complete - all the incidental music, scene change music, even the bows/exit music. But I think that's the only JAY recording that goes that far. It's interesting as a document of that 1966 revival score, but I tend to think it's a little overkill lol. For most of us, "complete" could just mean all the significant musical numbers (songs, dances, etc) without the connecting tissue. But I guess it's interesting for them to attempt to really do the entire thing note for note.
Where is that Anyone Can Whistle that was promised yet again a few months ago?? (I know that COVID could have delayed things, of course. But so frustrating given the number of times it's been promoted over the years...) |
