| I'd say that not all the songs would fit perfectly. Desiree has a three-year-old son, not a thirteen-year-old daughter, so "The Glamorous Life" would not wholly fit. I don't think "Liaisons" would especially fit the much warmer Madame Armfeldt of the film, who is not judgmental about her daughter's life. And so Madame Armfeldt's section of "The Glamorous Life" also wouldn't fit. The film's Charlotte is so bitter and full of barely suppressed rage that I don't think the resignation of "Every Day a Little Death" would much fit her. In the film, Desiree invites Carl-Magnus and Charlotte for the weekend so their section of "A Weekend in the Country" wouldn't fit. And the "Send in the Clowns" scene is not in the film at all. | |
