| NYC landlords get tax breaks for unrented property. Apparently the breaks are significant enough for properties to be vacant for years. While I'm sure online retail has had a very large impact on it, the astronomical rent being charged for commercial space is also a large contributing factor for these closures. If I had any say at all, I'd restrict the tax break to one year, after that, no tax break. |
