| This is an urban myth. The main reason space is not rented is because a landlord makes a calculated bet to wait for the market. Just like Home Depot puts air conditioners in storage in the fall rather than selling them at a steep discount. That said, presently, landlords are scared shitless and the nature of markets post-covid are very likely to be a very new playing field for a variety of reasons. And yes that will entail a lot of applications for property tax reductions, which will be yet another symptom. |
