Just musing here - but I wonder if there could be a temporary agreement with the musician’s union where the orchestra is recorded, but the musicians who played the tracks earn their weekly salary, and are fully credited as usual in the Playbill?
Also, perhaps if singing is a dangerous activity for droplet transfer, perhaps ensemble vocals could be recorded along with the orchestra tracks, to minimize risk of spread among the cast?
None of this is ideal, of course, and would hopefully all be temporary - just thinking outside the box, as everyone is having to do these days. |
