Book lengths often vary depending on format. A recent book: 149 pages single-spaced in manuscript. 228 pages in standard e-book form. 273 pages in 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" paperback. And both the e-book and paperback could change lengths further if the format, font, or margins changed.
Further, the size - or even inclusion - of photos could change everything. The book could have been intended to have photos, and they were omitted to save money. Or they were reduced to half the intended size and grouped on fewer pages. Changing from color to black-and-white shouldn't obviously change book length, but it clearly could affect price |
