A1. S. Korea’s protocol of sanitation and masks seems to have prevent any spread among audience members, musicians, cast, etc. I realize S. Korea is a different climate and the US is really different. But. It’s hard for me to believe we can’t get our act together by at least the end of the year. All anecdotal (and developing scientific) evidence seems to point to masks being almost absolute in preventing spread.

Yesterday, AMC Theatres announced its reopening plans for next month. AMC will not mandate that all guests wear masks, although employees will be required to do so. “We did not want to be drawn into a political controversy,” said AMC CEO and president Adam Aron. “We thought it might be counterproductive if we forced mask wearing on those people who believe strongly that it is not necessary. "

Even more appalling are the comments appended to the news article (on both Facebook and Variety's webpage), where some people praise the decision and proclaim they refuse to patronize any business that requires masks. (Let's hope they don't!)

For me, it's hard to believe that we COULD get our act together by the end of the year.
