Right now our federal government does not believe in science and does not believe in the sort of comprehensive testing that has worked in countries like Germany and South Korea. Our 50 states are handling the virus in 50 different ways. There is no unified approach to fighting a virus that does not respect state borders.
Unless we get better leadership in both the White House and in the Senate, the virus will be rampant until 80 to 90% of Americans are exposed to it (and can no longer spread it) and/or until we get both a vaccine to prevent it and an effective medical treatment to make it much less deadly.
As of yesterday, the current administration has banned Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx from giving interviews to expert medical journalists like Sanjay Gupta. |
