| If the UK government - my government - was serious about doing everything they could to prevent virus spread, they'd start NOW by making wearing a mask mandatory in all enclosed public spaces. They haven't, because their messaging is carefully designed to give ministers plausible deniability rather than to ensure public safety. The performing arts industry, yes, needs help - but the first thing the government needs to do, rather than offering boneheaded suggestions like this one, is to do everything they possibly can to get the R number down. |
