I’m surprised no one has invented a microphone in the mask. Would really work for professors and teachers. But it could work on stage also. Of course most musicals have dancing and there is really no way to get around that with masks unless everyone has portable cpap machines.
The amount of breath control needed for singing, especially for a 2+ hour show, is going to be as taxing with a mask on as anything else. Plus, a situation where the actors' faces are always covered up so much is not going to be very effective for an audience. (And no, I don't think the masks with clear plastic in the mouth area would be much better in that regard.) I also don't think that face shields would be considered safe in this context. |
