Yes, that threw me, as I've never thought of "Rashomon" as impossible to understand or interpret. Mysterious is the more apt term for my experience of the film.
It just takes a little time sitting and puzzling over, much as I had to puzzle over how the film of "Rashomon" linked to a topic on adapting fixed works of art from one medium to another (unless we're talking about "See What I Wanna See"). Now I understand the thought process. |
