| I had tickets for The Inheritance and Slave Play for the first week in June. Needless to say, that didn’t happen. I remember seeing The Scottsboro Boys and thinking everyone should see this show. I’m a 65 year old white male and I feel that if a show makes me feel guilty or feel emotional in some way, they did their job. I’m satisfied. I had to see Hamilton a second time to catch up on the things I missed the first time. As good as it is, it didn’t change me. As for the theatre being DOA, I disagree. Broadway shows sell more tickets than all New York professional sports teams combined and I will be back when the time comes and so will most people like me. Otherwise, I’m glad this article said what it said. It is his truth and we have to stop thinking of Theatre like the “All Lives Matter” people. |
