I saw Afterglow off-Broadway in Mar., 2018. It was a very elaborate staging, very explicit, and very steamy with considerable full frontal nudity. The story was interesting and well acted, although kind of slight.
I wondered if anyone in Chicago would stage it, and I give Pride Films and Plays credit for the attempt. However, it's almost pointless to do a production that tries to be discreet and tame regarding the nudity aspect when the story itself isn't that strong. Nevertheless, my partner (who wasn't able to see it off-Broadway) enjoyed the Chicago version a lot, and I didn't mind seeing it again, this time with local actors. |
