Now that it seems clearer that that the 2020-2021 season won't start until spring 2021, the Tonys will probably get pushed back for several months. Otherwise, there might be 10 eligible shows.
I wonder if the Tonys will give awards for the 2019-2020 season at some point in next few months. It seems bizarre to tell a show that closed in fall 2019 to wait until fall 2021 to be considered for an award. I think if they had known all along that the re-start would be so late, the Tonys might have kept the original date earlier this month. But life has been full of twists and turns these past few months. |
