| Thanks for sharing this article, which paints a pretty damning portrait of a culture that was clearly known to many. It seems that Signature's senior staff and board were actively complicit in protecting Schaeffer. It's sad that some are using elements of Keegan's personal life to cast doubt on his story, but victim-blaming and character assassination are all too common in cases of sexual assault. I will be interested to see how this plays out. I've largely thought that sexual assault that occurs between men has not had quite the reckoning that we've seen from #MeToo and male/female assault, with rare exceptions (Kevin Spacey, for example). And in terms of DC-specific incidents, I also see that Jason Schlafstein has been dismissed from Flying V, and I've personally heard numerous accusations against another prominent director in town, going back many years. |
