| There’s a difference between an actor being in the right age range and “age blind.” However old the actor is in real life, he or she is usually still plausibly Gertrude’s son, Horatio’s contemporary, etc. Unless they cast a nonagenarian Gertrude, however, that seems unlikely in this production. It’s going to be difficult to take lines like “at your age, the heyday of the blood is tame” seriously if spoken to a Gertrude decades younger! |
