| Funny that's the ONE thing about the production I didn't love... I thought it was distractingly over-choreographed, and I was even more upset by it when it won the Tony over the SENSATIONAL choreography did Savion Glover for Shuffle Along (another show about history that was criminally swallowed in the season, and also featuring an almost entirely black cast). And not just covering the show in unnecessary movement but actual... musical numbers and dances! If there was one Tony Hamilton didn't deserve to take home that year of a competitor it was that one. | |
