"I mean, they're not wrong. The thing that makes the show terrific is the innovative use of language, storytelling and music. The production and design are... totally fine. The designs are professional and attractive, and do a good job of supporting the material and not drawing too much attention to themselves. But none of them are particularly innovative or impressive in their own rights. I always think of the production as a conventional box that contains a relavitory piece of literature."

As if the designs were the only visual element of the show, and the actors' facial expressions, the choreography, the staging, etc. count for nothing. What an incredibly strange and ridiculous perspective you share with the author of this article.
