****Eh, so I do think Satisfied is one of the best numbers of the show, but if you listen to Helpless and Satisfied closely (which I did many times before seeing the show) on the OBC, you pretty much know what is happening. It's quite clear they're playing the same scene from different perspectives and they "rewind" at the end of one. Yes, it's genius. But I didn't need to SEE it to understand that. ****
Following that argument, one one would ever need to see any show live if one has the album. Though a combination of close listening and reading the notes, one can usually "understand" most or all of what's going on in a show or a particular song, but that's not equivalent to appreciating it fully by seeing it performed live, with all that's added by the blocking, the choreography, the actors' facial expressions, etc. |
