It was grating. Maybe if the young actress was charismatic or a good actress it might of worked...but it came off as a an annoying gimmick. And I have a vague memory of the ensemble sitting in a circle and snapping their fingers to indicate....rain?
The whole vibe of that production was look, we don't like this play but we're doing it anyway. It was so long ago but just writing about stokes the anger I experienced watching it. |
