Not that obscure. The show she quoted had a brief run on Broadway, but gets done occasionally in regional theatre. It featured a Tony-winning performer and another who would win a Tony this century.
BTW, her reference was not as clever as yours. Hers was accurate, but less imaginative than the one you came up with. But I give her credit for making me think of Broadway when I haven't been to a theater in over 3 months.
