Thank you. I may be alone in my speculations, but everything about this digital release has been a surprise to me. I just today read the 6/25 Times article that explains the bidding war, how Iger finally negotiated a sale. And how Miranda and others were a firm no initially about the platform exposure we're being provided. They wanted to hold off. So perhaps -- incomplete info -- that explains why I presumed some sort of blackout with the stage iteration resuming.

But I'm guessing here, too: this version's existence will only whet appetites for the live show. Hamilton is now also a brand, a cultural artifact, the known thing. It's gained a new luster: it represents fandom and obsession prior to Covid. And -- not for this board -- another era of America. It's done the impossible, moved from beloved show-of-the-moment into something akin to nostalgia-inducing. I saw the show 10/4/15, and just seeing a piece of "Satisfied" made me tear up, reconnecting not only with the material and gorgous staging but also, frankly 2015. I suspect I'm not alone in that.
