| Of course, I realize that seeing the OBC live and seeing them on film are very different experiences, but, acknowledging that, I'm wondering which replacements people have preferred to the OBC. I preferred both Javier Munoz and especially Austin Scott to Lin. I've seen a few different George Washingtons and understudy Deon'te Goodman blew them all out of the water. I never got to see Solea Pfeiffer as Eliza, but, based on her work in Evita and Songs for a New World, I sure wish I had. |

| I saw only Javier's Alexander until last night, albeit with the full company. Comparing a performance from October of 2015 with one in my living room on film isn't fair. But I still think the Muñoz Hamilton was more nuanced overall, particularly in act two, and -- others may disagree -- a better match for the Odom Burr. The two felt like strange locked together soulmates, both wiry and intensely focused. Lin's performance is charismatic because, well, he is a unique one of a kind. I loved him in the recorded performance (and of course, know only his vocals). But the role isn't otherwise a perfect fit. He's a bit of a puppy dog and the man is fox-like. The Munoz Hamilton feels like the guy they're describing, the big mouth with the charismatic presence. And what Angelia sings about -- those intelligent eyes in that frame. Maybe it was written about Miranda, but it worked especially well with Muñoz. But to repeat myself, Miranda is Miranda, and his Alexander is now for the ages. To overthink his performance's relative success feels nitpicky. | |

| Miguel Cervantes was simply extraordinary as Hamilton, Javier Munoz was also an improvement. Tho. To be fair. There was something quite special about a musical that keeps saying "You have no control/Who lives, who dies, who tells your story" and having the literal storyteller being center stage. Denee Benton and Solea Pfieffer are the only Eliza's that didn't disappear when Anjelica was also on stage. Phillipa was lovely but seemed to fade unless she was center stage and I think it weakens the overall impact of the show. Having a stronger Eliza really resets the balance of the show in an important way. Every King I've seen has been superior to Jonathan Groff. Brian D'arcy James, Rory O'Malley, and Alexander Gemignai especially. Jonathan Groff didn't really disappoint but it's a really obvious performance. James Madison/Hercules Mulligan isn't terribly pivotal but Wallace Smith made the part significant in a way I haven't seen anyone else do. I preferred Karen Olivo's more motherly, soulful take... but I wouldn't say it was better necessarily. Lastly. Joshua Henry gave probably the single best performance I've ever seen in a musical. The level of charisma could be felt five blocks away. Leslie Odom Jr.'s performance felt very effortful and labored in a way that Joshua Henry's didn't. And just generally Leslie Odom Jr felt somewhat one note. So much so that when he's running for office after his character has pivoted, it feels a little silly. Played as comic business. The arch of Joshua Henry's Burr was crystal clear and heartbreaking. Daniel Breaker brings a crafty mischief to the proceedings that adds to the character in a way I didn't expect. I think they're both leagues better than Leslie Odom Jr but that said... his performance is still pretty outstanding and hard to top. |

| I totally disagree with your assessment of Phillipa Soo as Eliza. She and Goldsberry are the hearts of the show. Soo is stunning performing Burn and she is fantastic at the conclusion. She became a star with Hamilton and should have been Natasha on Broadway in The Great Comet. | |

| It's amazing how much more significant the track (especially Madison) feels with his performance. | |

| I'll agree that Gemignani was more interesting than Groff, but I'll never complain about hearing Groff's vocals, which are just gooey good. I'm glad he got the best song for "Frozen 2." I enjoyed Miguel Cervantes but I preferred Javier Muñoz, who captured the impetuous obnoxiousness of Hamilton in a way that read as very believable. Because Lin-Manuel himself always feels like a total sweetheart offstage, and his persona is well known, I found it a bit hard to buy into the idea that his Hamilton was capable of being a pompous prick who should have learned when to shut up. It was easier for me to disappear into the character with Mr. Muñoz. I'm a huge fan of Karen Olivo and I expected I'd like her Angelica more than Renée Elise Goldsberry, but I came to believe that with Angelica, less is more. The text does so much of the work that I think Angelica is best served by not getting in the way of it all. I'm sad I did not get to see Solea Pfeiffer, who blew me away in the SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD at City Center, and Joshua Henry, who I would practically cross the earth to see. I think he's a god. - GMB |

| To me, LMM has brought the least depth to Hamilton of all the actors I've seen in the part. Miguel Cervantes in Chicago was the first actor other than Lin I saw as Hamilton, and his performance totally changed my perspective on the character and work. | |

| Agree re: Cervantes. He was outstanding. Also really enjoyed Muñolz as others have said. While it was an experience to see Lin-Manuel starring in a piece of work he put his heart and soul into, it was a little tough to see him as selfish, as someone else mentioned. The real standout from me was seeing Jin Ha as Burr in Chicago. He was a revelation when I saw it in July of 2018. He and Miguel Cervantes had palpable chemistry - it was electric. |

| Played Hamilton but I saw him do Burr. Liked him better than Odom Jr. He had an "outsider" vibe that really worked for me. |
