I fully respect your interest in discussing something other than HAMILTON. I just wonder about MAME. In general, as has been pointed out by at least some when this show is endlessly brought up here, it really isn't that good, compared to the play and film of "Auntie Mame" and even beyond the songs on the recording. And specifically about Hathaway, it isn't really her age. Or her total lack of similarity--at least to me--with Lansbury who famously and very successfully often played older characters. Hathaway is a good actress and time may prove me wrong but I don't see her at all as Mame.

I think her blithe-rich-dilletente performance in Ocean's 8 is a good guide to what her Mame might be like.
