The pretend “Marie’s Crisis” in The Politician

In Ben Platt’s Netflix show he plays at Marie’s Crisis, well he comes out for the door but when they show the inside it is a much nicer venue. Is that inside a real piano bar somewhere in NYC that I should know? By the way if you haven’t seen it is a fun, if slight show, from Ryan Murphy. Like most of his shows it has a very gay vibe and this features an assortment of theater actors popping up here and there too. Ben Platt is absolutely adorable in it.

Make a fantastic pair playing off each other in season 2. The second season is a lot better than the first.

Is it necessary to complete the first season in order to enjoy the second?

The Jessica Lange character is well done and her granddaughter is in the second season and probably not make sense what she does without the first season background.

It’s only 8 episodes, not a huge commitment. I just finished the sopranos 86 episodes—now that was a commitment.

After watching and not loving the first episode or two, I read the Vulture recaps for the rest of the season, and then picked up with the final S1 episode, which is the starting point of the NYC storyline. I found that episode to be much more compelling than the California/high school episodes had been.

It reminded me of election with Witherspoon and Broderick.

I agree that it wasn’t the most interesting plot line but I did find the Manchausen disease to be interesting twist with Lange and the other issues. Second season is more interesting.

At the very least, I would watch the season 1 finale, where Light and Midler’s characters are introduced.
