Thanks for that great reply, Daniel!
I am actually always interested in what goes into casting and producing TV shows, plays and films. So Dratch's book would probably be right up my alley!
I hadn't considered that she was still under contract! It seems very cruel of NBC to tell her she's not pretty enough to play one role but they still insist she play smaller, weirder roles. (Admittedly very fun roles.)
You're right about Krakowski having a very interesting and successful career. Given the fact that she is virtually unchanged since the days of STARLIGHT EXPRESS, I forget how long she has been around! I missed her (just) in GRAND HOTEL but lovely ed her in NINE and SHE LOVES ME and ONCE UPOIN A MATTRESS. (Has she ever played a lead in a Broadway show either? MACK AND MABEL was just a concert, right?)
Perhaps if WOMAN OF THE YEAR were to be revived- unlikely, I know- she and Rachel Dratch could do a crackerjack "Grass Is Always Greener"? |
