| Does anyone know what Lin-Manuel has been working on musical-wise? Could it be something to do with Mucho, Mucho Amor? |

Earlier this week I watched the fantastic documentary Mucho, Mucho Amor on Netflix about the Puerto Rican TV astrologer Walter Mercado. I recognised him from his TV appearances but knew almost nothing about him. It is a terrific film and Lin-Manuel appears in it briefly and clearly has a very strong emotional tie to Mercado and his message of acceptance and love, all swathed in a myriad of fabulous gowns and jewellery.
His life and personality seem like an excellent inspiration for a musical, whether it is directly about him or maybe about his effect on his fans (perhaps the way a young Puerto Rican American and his abuela bonded while watching his show).
I don't recall anyone reporting on what Miranda may be cooking up (if anything) but I think there are worse ideas than this.
Javier Muñoz came to mind as a possible Mercado. |
