I also saw that and have the window card of Hilary Knight's artwork... she didn't say "Funny Girl" was written for her but that she had an idea of a one woman show based on Fanny Brice which she took to Ray Stark who said "There'll never be a show about my mother-in-law" then a few years later he produced "Funny Girl". Ballard then praised Barbra Streisand which I thought was very classy.
