| The first time I heard of her was in the lyrics of Shiver Me Timbers/Samedi et Venderedi on Bette Midler's Songs for the New Depression. I looked her up (books, no internet in 1976) and when I saw a photo of her performing I remember thinking she looked exactly I pictured her, like bubbly champagne flowing from a newly opened bottled. |
