I was extremely impressed with the production values. The cast obviously knows the script inside and out and brings months of experience doing this play to tonight's performance. It's basically people sitting around outside in rural Wyoming, so the pitch black backdrop and the minimal lighting of the faces made perfect sense. I kind of envisioned them sitting around a dying campfire. And it was live, mild glitches and all. This is the first time I've seen a Zoom production where I felt that it was probably very close in feeling to seeing the production on stage.

I haven't seen other readings with a black backdrop, but it definitely helps the audience believe that the cast are in the same space.

It was also interesting how some of the dialogue was so close to recent events. It felt like it was just written. I'm very glad that they didn't do this reading during its originally scheduled date at the peak of the protests.

All the cast were outstanding, but particular kudos from me for Michele Pawk as the new president and Julia McDermott as Emily.

I am probably way overthinking it, but I'm not sure I understood Emily's last monologue. Any thoughts?
