I don't know, either. My personal guess was that she was supposed to be "channeling" the spirit of Tiffany, the woman she counseled, but I'm not sure why she would be or what that was supposed to mean.

I thought the performances were great, but I have mixed feelings about the material. Most of the ideology talk comes from Teresa, but she is pretty unlikable, and she gets a savage put-down by her idol. So does that mean the audience is supposed to discount everything she was saying? Because if you take her lines out of the script, there's not a whole lot of substantive conservative talk left.

A side note: Jesse Green in his New York Times review calls Teresa a "glib liar," but does she actually lie about anything during the play? I don't remember her doing that.

And Teresa is right: Kevin would be a TERRIBLE Dean of Admissions. And he is way too young, and has no relevant experience. But the president seems serious about considering him for the position. So are we supposed to think she'll be bad at her job? This is her only administrative decision we know about, and it's a laughably bad one.
