| Yes, there have been terrible incidents happening around the country, not only NY but Portland and other places as well. But latching onto fear only promulgates that. You know what beats fear? Courage. I remember going outside the day after 9/11 to work because I wasn't going to let those bastards make me fear living in my city. This time around it's a deadly pandemic of a virus, as well as unfettered racism which has brought many to the point where "enough is enough" in how folks have treated others over a long period of time. You don't have to go out protesting if you don't want to be near people in a crowd, but I'd lay off trying to get others fearful of walking the streets or bringing things back to, hopefully at some point, something approaching normalcy in congregating or just walking around. It's wrong-headed, cowardly and not going to help others nor yourself. Plus, your comments actually have me agreeing with people like Singapore/Fling, for Chrissakes! |
