Why wouldn't I be serious? A frequent poster whose context clues suggested they were in an older demographic posted regularly for years and then suddenly stopped right as a pandemic swept the city, after indicating that they expected the pandemic to be miraculously cured. Perhaps I was too forward when I wrote "we have to presume" they didn't survive Covid. But I'm shocked that people are so insistent that this isn't at least a likely scenario, based on what we have seen of the virus so far.
