It wasn't the frequency they posted, it was the way they talked about their life and how they filled their time. Or, to rephrase: their life seemed to revolve entirely around the theater, considering not just the frequency with which they went but to the amount of obscure venues they went to, as well as the time they devoted to activities like (if they were being honest) looking up seating charts for every performance of a show they didn't like in order to prove it was "selling poorly".
