I first wrote: Are you sure it was "Pygmalion" and not "The Millionairess?" She's much more suited for the latter, and I'm pretty sure she did a stock circuit tour of that in the early 60s.

Then I did some quick research: Carol Channing did a summer circuit tour of "Pygmalion" in 1953, when she was 32. She did "The Millionairess" 10 years later -- the summer of 1963 -- when she was 42.

Really interesting. I wonder if she had more versatility when she was younger. Like Ethel Merman's voice when she was in her early 20s could still be lovely. She probably could have done "Evita" well.
