I just watched the Bay Street Theater virtual gala/telethon that streamed last night. Still available online at the link below.
Like most fundraising events, it was a bit too full of self-praising fundraising testimonials and a bit short on entertainment value. but what was there was quite good. No real surprises but some lovely performances. Some highlights are Andre' de Shields singing "If You Believe" from THE WIZ, Raul Esparza demonstrating a triple-split personality on "Pretty Women/Pretty Lady," and Melissa Errico singing "Send in the Clowns," with a finale of Betty Buckley leading a Zoom cast of thousands (well, not quite) in "What I Did for Love."
So, watch some of it and send them your money. It's a worthy cause. |
