| Regarding Channing's versatility, I would have LOVED to have seen her when she replaced Rosalind Russell in WONDERFUL TOWN. I can't imagine too such different talents. Although I don't suppose she was "Carol Channing" then. I've always assumed that the persona came together in the 1960's after HELLO, DOLLY! and that she was more of an actress, rather than a personality, prior to that. |
