I also had some issues with his direction of Drood, a show I adore, which I felt succeeded because of the writing and cast and in spite of the direction.
She Loves Me is exactly the kind of show he should be doing. He did a good job on that, I recall thinking.
He is fine. He is sometimes good sometimes bad, but usually just unremarkable. But nothing he does is ever just "wow that was so well directed", it's always "it was good, but some of the direction... hmm" or "it was bad, but it had some good stuff." He is the male Kathleen Marshall but worse, and he doesn't even choreograph. |
