Yiddish, doesn't exactly mean anything, sort of an all purpose word to fill in. Example:
Wife: I was at the butcher, he had nice chickens
Husband: So nu?
Meaning, so what does that mean to me.
Can stand in for lots of different things in different contexts
Husband: I saw so and so on the street today
Wife: So nu?
Meaning either how did so and so look or act or it could mean what is that supposed to mean to me. |
